The individual is required to have a strong accounting background. Knowledge and skills in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable is preferred. A degree in accounting is a plus, but not required. This position is very hands on.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for processing accounts payable and purchase order invoices
Responsible for printing checks, requesting wire transfers, and making online payments.
Responsible for reconciling credit card statements.
Set up new vendor accounts and obtain vendor information and W-9.
Generate accounts receivable invoices, credit memos, and debit memos.
Work closely with Sales Team to ensure accuracy of Sales Orders.
Email monthly customer statements.
Assist in month end close and all other duties assigned by the Accounting Manager.
Build and maintain effective and professional relationships with internal and external partners.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Thorough knowledge of the financial chart of accounts.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong analytical and reasoning abilities with superior numeric skills.
Possess well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills.
Must be highly motivated, be able to function independently and multi-task.
Must be detail oriented.
Intermediate computer skills – proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook.
MAS 90 (Sage 100ERP) accounting software experience a plus.
3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in manufacturing. A degree in accounting is a plus.
