  1. ACT Releases SFI-Approved Pressure Plate and Flywheels for 06-14 Audi and Volkswagen Applications

    LANCASTER, CALIFORNIA, February 18th, 2021 — Advanced Clutch Technology (ACT) has released the new VW016 Pressure Plate. The VW016 features a more efficient cover design, resulting in better release and pedal feel. This Pressure Plate replaces the VW014 in the VW7 and VW8 Series Kits. We have also released two new Streetlite Flywheels the 601300, supersedes the 600830 in the VW7 Kits, and the 601301, supersedes the 600831 in the VW8 Kits. All other Kit Components remain the same (see spec sheet for detailed application listings).VW7-HDSS=

    ACT’s VW7 and VW8 Clutch Kits for these Euro Applications, include a Heavy Duty Pressure Plate, Streetlite Flywheel, a choice of Disc, Release Bearing, and an Alignment Tool. The Heavy Duty Pressure Plate incorporates hardened diaphragm fingers for decreased wear and provides a 30% increase in clamp force over the stock unit.

    The ACT Street Clutch Kits combine the Heavy Duty Pressure Plate with a Performance Organic Street Disc. The disc features premium organic friction materials able to withstand increased heat and abuse, steel-backed linings for high-burst strength and modifications engineered for quicker shifting.

    The ACT Street Clutch Kit provides a moderate and consistent pedal feel, smooth engagement, and significantly improved durability. These kits meet SFI Spec 1.1 and have increased torque capacity up to 399 FT-LB.

    LANCASTER, CALIFORNIA, February 11th, 2021 — Advanced Clutch Technology (ACT) has released the new MZ032 Pressure Plate. The MZ032 features a more efficient cover design, resulting in better release and pedal feel. This Pressure Plate replaces the MZ018 in the ZM4 and ZM5 Series Kits.     ACT’s ZM4 and ZM5 Clutch Kits for the Mazda MX-5 Miata NC Cars include a Heavy Duty Pressure Plate, a choice of Disc, Release and Pilot Bearing and an Alignment Tool. The Heavy Duty Pressure Plate incorporates hardened diaphragm fingers for decreased wear and provides a 34% increase in clamp force over the stock unit.

    The ACT Street Clutch Kits combine the Heavy Duty Pressure Plate with a Performance Organic Street Disc. The disc features premium organic friction materials able to withstand increased heat and abuse, steel-backed linings for high-burst strength and modifications engineered for quicker shifting.

    The ACT Street Clutch Kit provides a moderate and consistent pedal feel, smooth engagement, and significantly improved durability. These kits meet SFI Spec 1.1 and have increased torque capacity up to 281 FT-LB.

    The ACT Race Clutch Kits combine the Heavy Duty Pressure Plate with a Cerametallic Xtreme Race Disc, which is available in 6-Pad Spring-Centered and Rigid Hub Designs. These discs are highly durable while allowing for quick shifting. The Xtreme Race Discs are for high-powered engines and recommended for track use only. The ACT Race Clutch Kits meet SFI Spec 1.1 and are rated to hold up to 359 FT-LB of torque at the crank.

  3. ACT Releases SFI-Approved Streetlite Flywheel for 06-15 Mazda MX-5 Miata Applications

    LANCASTER, CALIFORNIA, February 11th 2021 — Advanced Clutch Technology (ACT) is pleased to announce our new Streetlite Flywheel, for Mazda MX-5 Miata 5-Speed and 6-Speed applications (see spec sheet for detailed application listings).601140=

    It is designed for performance and affordability without compromising a smooth idle. This one-piece, forged Chromoly Steel Flywheel is CNC machined and features induction-hardened, integral ring gear for increased durability. ACT Flywheels are engineered for strength and allow cost-effective resurfacing.

    Driver and spectator safety are a top priority at ACT. Each ACT Flywheel is certified to meet SFI Specification 1.1 standards, making them legal for competition where SFI 1.1 certification is required or recommended. XACT flywheels come complete with an official SFI sticker and serial number, as required for certification.

    The 601140 XACT Streetlite Flywheel weighs 10.4 pounds, which is 35% lighter than the Stock Flywheel. This Flywheel provides quicker engine response and acceleration, while being significantly lighter than Stock.

    This Flywheel is a lightweight, single-mass upgrade to the OEM Dual-Mass Flywheel for these applications. It is designed for performance and affordability without compromising a smooth idle.     ACT’s new Clutch Kits for the BMW N54 & N55 include a Heavy Duty Pressure Plate, a choice of Disc, Release Module and two different Alignment Tools (varies by application). The Heavy Duty Pressure Plate incorporates hardened diaphragm fingers for decreased wear and provides a 52% increase in clamp force over the stock unit.

    The ACT Street Clutch Kits combine the Heavy Duty Pressure Plate with a Performance Organic Street Disc. The disc features premium organic friction materials able to withstand increased heat and abuse, steel-backed linings for high-burst strength and modifications engineered for quicker shifting.

    The ACT Street Clutch Kit provides a moderate and consistent pedal feel, smooth engagement, and significantly improved durability. These kits meet SFI Spec 1.1 and have increased torque capacity up to 465 FT-LB.

    The ACT Race Clutch Kits combine the Heavy Duty Pressure Plate with a Cerametallic Xtreme Race Disc, which is available in 6-Pad Spring-Centered and Rigid Hub Designs. These discs are highly durable while allowing for quick shifting. The Xtreme Race Discs are for high-powered engines and recommended for track use only. The ACT Race Clutch Kits meet SFI Spec 1.1 and are rated to hold up to 702 FT-LB of torque at the crank.
